Recipe For Jamie Olivier's Revolution Burger

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Hits Hollywood. In his latest venture he has challenged a fast food outlet called Patra's to change the menu and came up with some new burger recipes. The most popular seems to be the Revolution Burger. Everyone now wants to know the recipe for this Revolution Burger so I have watched the programme a few times now and with a little research in to the Greek yogurt dressing I think I have got the recipe pretty close. So this is my close as it can get recipe for Jamie Oliver's Revolution Burger. Enjoy!

FOR THE JAMIE OLIVER REVOLUTION BURGER

1kg minced chuck beef with approx 10% fat ( ask your local butcher for this, he will grind it for you)
( IF YOU CAN NOT GET CHUCK BEEF JUST BUY LEAN STEAK MINCED BEEF)
1 onion finely chopped
1 free range organic egg
1 handful of breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
1 pinch of nutmeg
1 pinch of sea salt and ground black pepper
250g pinto beans (soaked in water overnight then boiled in water with salt & black pepper to season)
2 medium sized sweet potatoes
1 iceberg lettuce

FOR THE GREEK YOGURT DRESSING

16 ounces of thick strained greek yogurt
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
5-6 leaves of fresh mint
1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

METHOD

Mix the ground beef with the onion, egg, breadcrumbs, mustard, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Shape into four patties and refrigerate for half an hour or so to give them a chance to firm up slightly.
Add some butter to the cooked pinto beans, crusk with a masher or fork and set aside.
Boil the sweet potato, add sea salt and ground black pepper then mash and set aside.
For the dressing, Put all ingredients except the mayonnaise in the blender and blend at low speed until smooth. Transfer to a bowl, whisk in the mayonnaise, and serve or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Low Fat Tip: Use low fat yogurt and mayonnaise to bring the fat count way down.

Now your ready to cook the Revolution Burgers.  Get a frying or griddle pan nice and hot. Brush the pan with a little oil, season the Revolution Burgers generously with salt and pepper, and cook them for 10 minutes, turning them carefully every minute or so, until they're nice and pink and juicy, or longer if you like them well done. Make sure they don't break up as you turn them. Once the burgers are cooked, split the rolls into two and toast them quickly on the griddle or in a toaster.

On the bottom layer of the bun spread the crushed pinto beans, put the lettuce on top of the beans then the burger. Put a spoonful of the mashed or crushed sweet potato on top of the burger and then pour on some of the Greek yogurt dressing and then put the top part of the bun on. Serve with a fresh chopped side salad.

Now this is not the exact recipe for the Revolution Burgeras Jamie has not yet given the recipe out but its my take on it and it is delicious so go make some and enjoy.
