The Perfect Christmas Dinner

So here are all the links you will need to make your perfect Christmas day dinner. My advice is to prepare and cook as much as you can on Christmas Eve, store it in the fridge and heat in the oven on Christmas day. It makes it less stressful and also helps getting everything out hot.






Starter

As a starter I would recommend Lentil and Bacon soup or Scotch Broth. This can be made the day before and heated up on the stove just before serving. All links open in a new window.

 Main Course  


So much of this can be made the day before and then re-heated in trays in the oven before serving. I recommend doing this with the turkey, the roast potatoes, the sprouts. Cook and slice the turkey and lay it out in a baking tray, cover with cling film and store overnight. Do the same with the stuffing and roast potatoes. Parboil the sprouts and store them in the fridge too.

On Christmas day prepare your parsnips and have them ready to go in to the oven.  Make your turkey gravy and pour over the turkey in the tray, cover with tin foil. Follow the instruction for the sprouts and do the same with them. Cover the stuffing and roast potatoes with tin foil too and place everything in the oven at around 180 - 200.
After  10 - 15 minutes remove the tin foil from everything and allow to heat for another 10 - 15 minutes and serve everything immediately
